In 2004, turnout rates for citizens were 67 percent for non-Hispanic whites, 60 percent for blacks, 44 percent for Asians and 47 percent for Hispanics (of any race). These rates were higher than the previous presidential election by 5 percentage points for non-Hispanic whites and 3 points for blacks. By contrast, the voting rates for Asian and Hispanic citizens did not change. These data pertain to those who identified themselves as being of a single race.

If you wan't to be part of history and actually make history in the Western World, you better get your asses out and show up to vote. Get your damn ID, Passport and do whatever to make sure you don't get turned away from the polls. Get yo' sh*t together now!! If you don't you are a damn idiot and deserve whats comin' to you. The whole world is watching to see the first Black president in a White dominated society. Are you a part of the solution or are you gonna be a part of the problem?

http://www.census.gov/Press-Release/www ... 04986.html

In African countries and Caribbean countries, voter turnout are over 90 percent.

I'm just sayin'...this election is up to you!! the only reason you should stay home is if you're an ex-felon. ...but, we gone change that too one day.

Not All ex felons are restricted from voting. Only in certain states or jurisdictions. If you have a felony conviction check with your City or County clerks office.

Yes, please spread the word, not all states have banned es felons from voting. man who are willing to vote may not know depending on what state they are in.

Also, Many of my family have moved to other states and never changed their license to reflect where they live now ( just waiting for it to expire i guess) encourage them that their new state may allow them to vote whereas the old one didn't...

just my two cents

IN michigan ex-felons cannot vote.

but i'm registered (i'm ex misdemeanor) i have my registration card taped to the fridge so when it is time to vote i will know where my card is and where to go to vote.

This will be my first time voting since living in vegas because i didn't know the candidates or the issues. i'm ready now for vegas and to cast my vote for barak obama

i liked the fire in his speech tonite. i think all the speakers of the DNC did a great job. my favorites were Ted Kennedy, Michelle Obama, Bidens son, Joe Biden, and Barak Obama but not in that order.

Thank you for posting this....

I volunteer by handing out voter registration forms...I don't care who you vote for as long as you vote. I will be doing it again Monday on Labor Day...We all must do what we can....

Tanzie, that info on Michigan is incorrect. Michigan will not allow Inmates to vote but once released they can vote. Some states will not allow you to vote while on parole or Probation and 2 states will not allow you to vote ever after felony convictions. Some states You have to get reinstated and it is a cumbersome process to get your voting rights back. some states it's very simple.

*CORRECTION*

THERE ARE 14 STATES THAT WILL NOT ALLOW YOU TO VOTE FOR LIFE AFTER FELONY CONVICTION.
